* you are pregnant
* you are undergoing IVF to become pregnant
* you are on medications that prohibit you from exposure to light (often listed on warning labels)
* you have recently sun-tanned (2-3 week waiting period after last prolonged sun exposure)
* your hair does NOT have color (white hairs do NOT respond to laser treatments)
What else should I know before I begin laser hair removal treatments?
To ensure skin safety during your laser hair removal treatment, you MUST avoid prolonged sun exposure (tanning) for 2-3 weeks prior to your laser session. Please inform your laser practitioner about your current/recent medication history. Some medications cause skin sensitivity to light so it is very important that we know about this before your laser treatment.

While individual results vary, the average number of visits required for permanent hair reduction is six. Only hairs in the first hair growth phase can be killed by the laser (see graphic to right). Therefore, the laser treatment must be repeated once every 3-6 weeks until all the hairs in the treatment area have been killed.
